At Mileus, we make our cities more liveable. By moving commute to a higher level.
Mileus guarantees that every day, you can get home from work comfortably – with a combination of public transport and taxi dropping you off right at your doorstep.
Automated, real-time integration of buses, metro and trams with taxis in large cities. We’re building a technological platform that innovates urban mobility.
Now we’re assembling our Frontend Software Engineering Team and are looking for frontend or full-stack developers with experience or interest in UI building, data visualisation and dynamic JS animations in browsers.
THE CHALLENGE.
We’re building Mileus Transactional Product, a platform that will allow transportation service providers and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) aggregators to deliver intermodal transportation services to their users. See how the intermodal transport looks in our video:
We’re also building Mileus Analytics, a modeling tool that will help transportation service providers and mobility as a service (MaaS) aggregators to implement intermodal and integrated mass transportation services on micro-region (sub-urban) level basis. This involves quantifying clusters of residential areas and modeling transportation intent inflow models for each residential cluster.
Okay, that sounds quite complex. How does anyone make sense of it? That’s where visualisations come into play! They’ll make life easier for the ride-hailing & taxi operators, the end users and even our own engineers when we’ll all actually see what’s going on in these complex systems.
Thus, in order to build and maintain our products, we need to:
- have a way of conveniently interacting through UI with the Mileus Transactional system,
- support debugging by displaying states and results of the system on a map,
- create explanatory animations of how the products work for users based on their inputs,
- visualise the outputs of our Mileus Analytics system in forms like heat maps and graphs,
- clarify the conclusions based on the Mileus Analytics system by simulating the traffic movement and allowing the users to tweak the configuration to match their needs.
YOUR ROLE.
As a Senior Frontend / Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will be the master of data visualisation and the user-facing components of our products.
That includes:
- creating an internal map-based visualisation platform to support debugging and connecting it to our backend services,
- building and maintaining UI for our market validation tools so that the end users could see the simulations and animations of our product
- and also cooperating on ad-hoc visualisations and other UI based functionality together with our Mileus Analytics team.
Later on, you may possibly become the Technical Team Lead in charge of our frontend projects.
More about you:
- You’re experienced in building UI (using for example React, ideally with TypeScript) and are able to build a new web app from scratch.
- You have some algorithmical knowledge and are not afraid of working with complex data structures retrieved from the backend.
- You have experience with advanced visualisation libraries (like D3.js) and are able to use them for creating not only ready-made graphs but also custom visualisations.
- You have a basic knowledge / awareness of WebGL and are capable of working or learning to work with frontend animation libraries (such as Deck.gl or Anime.js for example).
- Even though the main challenge is the complex data visualisation, you’ll also be ready to roll your sleeves up when it comes to tweaking CSS and other “standard” related frontend work.
- Apart from bringing strong experience in frontend / full-stack programming, you also possess an ability to adapt your knowledge and gain new capabilities across technological space, either mature or cutting edge.
- You have drive and are hungry to learn new things.
OUR DNA.
- Open company culture, freedom & trust | We don’t do office politics and we’re as transparent and open as one can be. We are not “Jacks of all trades”, yet you won’t hear “that’s not my job” answer here, either. Instead of hierarchy, we focus on what drives results – cross-functional cooperation between Product and Business. There’s one big risk, though – you may never want to return to a corporate job.
- Intensive learning & growth | Experimenting, failing and learning. The work is diverse and the technological complexity is an exciting challenge. You’ll be learning and growing fast – guaranteed.
- True startup experience & impact | We’re a young, growing startup where every day is a new adventure and everyone can have a huge impact on the value we create – on how urban mobility will work in our cities.
- Flexible work time | We don’t do “fully-remote”, yet we are very flexible in terms of working hours as well as home-office work to adapt to everybody’s needs.
- Option to co-own the company | We have an ESOP Plan (Employee Stock Option Plan) in place to let our team co-own Mileus. You can have a share in the success and value we create.
We help make our cities more liveable. And we find purpose and great excitement in doing so.
If making an impact is what you are looking for, this is the place to be. Apply below and let’s get to know each other!
